HONEYCOMB FACTS
Tricel Honeycomb is a Kraft paper product that is bent, glued, and cut to form a continuous series of triangular cells. It's a kind of "super corrugated."
When
bonded to facing materials to form a sandwich panel lightweight Tricel Honeycomb provides
incredible strength and rigidity. In fact, Tricel Honeycomb products - including
Tripanel and Trideck - offer the highest rigidity and strength-to-weight ratios available
today.
The secret is in its design. The Tricel
Honeycomb core is 95% open space, but in a sandwich panel it acts like a steel I-beam,
carrying shearing, bending and direct loads. The result: low deflection, low weight
and density as low as 1 lb. per square foot.
Tricel Honeycomb comes in a wide variety of
grades and forms for outstanding design flexibility. Honeycomb thickness' range from
.4" to 5" (in .005" increments), and 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2"
cell sizes are available. Plus, basis weight, cell size and resin impregnation can
be manipulated to produce the ideal honeycomb core for virtually any project.

The uses for Tricel Honeycomb are limited only by the imagination. Every day designers, architects and builders find new
applications in addition to those listed below:
- Exhibit/display
- Transportation
- Fiberglass lamination
- Automotive Interiors
- Marine interiors
- Store fixtures
- Construction
- Contract office furniture industries
- Architectural woodwork
- Recreational vehicles
- Partition systems
