In 2011, we lost eight days of production due to power failures, thanks to our “friends” at Commonwealth Edison. Those were lost man hours, lost production, lost scheduling, and lost client goodwill. We were LOST. I’m sure you can imagine the chaos it caused nearly everyone in our area. But we were more concerned on the burden it placed on our customers. We’ll never let it happen again.
We have just completed installation of a 150kw natural gas fired back up generator, and although it was costly, losing business is much more costly. It made sense, and we were happy to make the investment. We put it to good use recently, and while everyone else in the area was screaming, we were humming along, doing business as usual.
Investing in our customers is something that Tricel believes in wholly. We will never put our customer’s needs in jeopardy, whether it be our fault, or someone else’s. We have been known to ship an emergency supply of product via whatever way possible, and I’ve driven many a mile with my Suburban piled high with honeycomb, just to avert a shutdown somewhere. It’s what good business is.
We also believe in forecasting your needs, and letting you know if your past acquisition record may indicate a near future need. Sue Mesmer, our Customer Service Manager, has a keen sense of knowing your requirements, sometimes before you do! And Todd Stiefelmayer, Sales Guru, can match your need to our product with just one phone call or email.
A new generator may not mean much to many, but to Tricel it’s just one more way to deliver on-time quality honeycomb to our customers with no excuses.
